Mouthguards can be used in different situations to protect damage to teeth.
Athletic mouthguards are custom fabricated in our office and can be made in your team color. they are an important part of equipment to keep teeth from chipping or being knocked out all together. The benefit of custom mouthguards include:
- clearer speech
- less obstruction while breathing
- more comfortable fit
Nightguards are used for patients who find themselves grinding or clinching their teeth at night or during stressful situations. Nightguards allow the patient a smooth plane to slide against preventing further wear. They are also valuable tools in treating TMJ problems. Commonly nightguards are used in conjunction with muscle relaxers in order to rest the jaw muscles that help control the popping and clicking.
