What is a veneer?

A veneer is a porcelain facing that goes over the front of a tooth to give that tooth a better appearance.  They can be used to fix a crooked or crowded smile, repair worn and chipped teeth, cover stains and imperfections in teeth, and to make teeth whiter.  Veneers are done by removing a small amount of enamel off of the front of your teeth, and placing a porcelain facing in that space.  Veneers are permanently bonded to the fronts of your teeth.  Veneers offer a more permanent alternative to composite resin bonding.
